Andrew J. Abernathey

Founder & CEO of Abernathey Holding Co.

Mr. Abernathey is the Founder & CEO of Abernathey Holding Co. (management company). Mr. Abernathey began his investing career at the age of 13, investing in a variety of public securities and achieved an annual growth rate of 171.44% for 3 years. Since the beginning, Mr. Abernathey has been deeply interested in Warren Buffett’s value investing approach.

Prior to beginning his investment career in full earnest, Mr. Abernathey always had a deep interest in business. This passion was exhibited by Mr. Abernathey with the commencement of other business operations. Mr. Abernathey, alongside his brother, founded Abernathey Brothers Farm, which is in the business of planting, growing, and harvesting thousands of acres of small grains to then sell in the open market. The operations have quickly grown into multiple locations in Lansford and Bottineau North Dakota. Mr. Abernathey believes Mr. Buffett’s quote “One is a better businessman because he is an investor, and a better investor because he is a businessman.”

Mr. Abernathey launched AHC’s first value oriented investment partnership in August of 2012. AHC’s first investment partnership was inspired by the original 1950’s Warren Buffett partnership. Since inception, the investment partnerships have achieved market-beating returns for its investors/partners and has grown its assets under management.

John D. Stewart

Senior Advisor of Abernathey Holding Co.

Mr. Stewart serves as the Senior Advisor of Abernathey Holding Co. (management company). Since 1992, Mr. Stewart has been the President of the Glacial Holdings group of companies, which are engaged in multi-family residential and commercial real estate and property management. Through a number of private entities, Mr. Stewart is an investor in various business enterprises. During the past nine years, Mr. Stewart has served as the chair of the Advisory Board of the Bank of North Dakota ( a $7B bank and the only state owned bank in the country), a director of Corridor Investors, LLC (a mutual fund management company with over $1B under management), Kalix (a non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation which provides individualized residential and vocational services to people with disabilities), and the Minot Family YMCA, and as a trustee of the Oppen Family Guidance Institute (a non-profit 501(c)(3) exempt private foundation that provides services to youth). He currently serves as a public company director of Command Center, Inc. (OTCQB:CCNI) and IRET (NYSE:IRET). Mr. Stewart was employed as a Certified Public Accountant by the accounting firms of Arthur Andersen & Co. (from 1978 to 1980) and Brady, Martz & Associates P.C. (from 1980 to 1997). He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from the University of North Dakota, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude.

David P. Nelson

Board Member of Meridian Investments Partnership

Mr. Nelson serves on the Board of the Meridian Investments Partnership. Mr. Nelson has spent more than 30 years in the commercial title insurance industry, all with the Fidelity National family of companies, handling single and multi-site projects, with total values in the hundreds of billions of dollars. Mr. Nelson’s largest transaction involved a portfolio of office buildings throughout the United States valued at more than seven billion dollars. David routinely assists national developers on title and closing issue with their projects in the Washington, DC, and other, metropolitan areas. Clients include Boston Properties, Beacon Properties, Trammell Crow, Mill Creek Residential Trust, B. F. Saul Real Estate Investment Trust, Federal Realty Investment Trust and Vornado Realty Trust. David received his undergraduate degree from the University of Arkansas at their main campus in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and his law degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, William H. Bowen School of Law.

William McManus

Board Member of Meridian Investments Partnership

Mr. McManus serves on the Board of the Meridian Investments Partnership. Mr. McManus is an honors graduate of the University of Hartford in West Hartford, Connecticut. Shortly after graduating college, Mr. McManus went into a career as a Financial Advisor with then, Investors Diversified Services,Inc, which later became American Express Financial Advisors and now Ameriprise Financial. After a long career of financial planning, Mr. McManus went on to training and management as Trainer and District Manager in the Boston area and eventually Vice President in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Mr. McManus retired as Director of Business Operations overseeing the Washington, DC/Baltimore area. With 37 plus years in the financial world, Mr. McManus brings a wealth of knowledge to Meridian as an active Board Member. Mr. McManus also serves on several other National and International Boards.

Jack Paris

Board Member of Meridian Investments Partnership

Mr. Paris serves on the Board of the Meridian Investments Partnership. Mr. Paris is 1976 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. Mr. Paris began his career in the oil & gas business in 1979 when he became a landman for Bismarck, ND based Cody, Inc.. Mr. Paris became a Certified Professional Landman in 1988 and in 1991 he purchased an ownership stake in Cody Oil & Gas Corporation. Mr. Paris and his partner built the business into a very successful oil & gas exploration company which they sold to Formation Energy, LP in 2014. Following the sale of their company Mr. Paris and his partner formed Cody Exploration, LLC where they continue to pursue exploration deals in the Bakken and other areas throughout the United States.

Guy Abernathey

Board Member of Meridian Investments Partnership

Mr. Abernathey serves on the Board of the Meridian Investments Partnership. Mr. Abernathey is currently a founding partner in the “City2Beach┬«” residential real estate company providing services in New York City and the Delaware Shore for over 16 years. In addition to his real estate expertise, Guy brings to the table a diverse background including 17 years of financial management, lobbying Capitol Hill in Washington, DC and as a private business owner. He is a graduate from the University of North Dakota with a BSBA in accounting.
